Use WIOA Funds to Take the Training You Need
SMU CAPE is recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) as an Eligible Training Provider (ETP). Select certificate programs are now eligible to receive funds through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). That means if you qualify, you can use WIOA funds to pay for your tuition and gain the skills needed to advance your career.
How to Get Started
- Check Your Eligibility: WIOA funding is available for individuals meeting specific criteria. You might be eligible for tuition assistance if you fall into one of these categories:
- Returning to the workforce
- Someone who has lost a job through no fault of your own
- Verified as a displaced homemaker
- The spouse of a member of the Armed Forces on active duty and currently unemployed or underemployed
- Income-eligible
- Choose an Approved Program and Apply: SMU CAPE offers a range of WIOA-approved programs designed to equip you with in-demand skills. Email us at smuthink@smu.edu about the program in which you are interested.
- Apply for Funding: Work with SMU CAPE and your WIOA case manager to apply to your preferred certificate program and use your WIOA funds toward your tuition.
