Financing a seminary education can be a challenge, but not impossible. In fact, a Perkins education is a valuable investment in developing your call to ministry. Perkins School of Theology at SMU offers a diverse range of scholarships to support both incoming and current students. These scholarships include merit-based, need-based, and denominationally specific awards, all designed to assist degree-seeking students in their theological studies. By providing financial support, these scholarships enable students to focus on their academic pursuits and spiritual growth.

When you apply for admission to a degree program, you are automatically considered for scholarship assistance. You will receive information about your scholarship award soon after notification of your acceptance to Perkins.

We suggest that you also complete the to determine your qualifications for assistance from other sources and loan programs.  

Note: Non-degree-seeking students are not eligible for scholarships or federal financial aid.
