The Hart eCenter
The Linda and Mitch Hart eCenter at 91ΧΤΕΔ was established in December 2000 through a generous gift from the Hart family, supplemented with a major technology gift from Nortel Networks. It is the only university-wide, cross-disciplinary initiative focused on interactive network technologies at a major research university.
The Hart eCenter at SMU is a focus for multi-disciplinary research, education, and innovation.
Collaborative multi-disciplinary research on sponsored projects.
Innovative educational programs on multi-disciplinary issues delivered.
Application of traditional strengths to non-traditional problems and opportunities.
Within the eCenter is SMU Guildhall, which is one of the premier graduate video game education programs in the United States. Since 2005, the program has graduated more than 1100 students, and alumni have worked at over 350 video game studios around the world. SMU Guildhall offers a Master of Interactive Technology in Digital Game Development degree, and students specialize in Art Creation, Level Design, Production, or Software Development.
